Role: Warehouse Operator /Forklift Operator
Location: Allentown PA
Type: Contract
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday, depending on business needs
- Day shift hours may start anytime between 6:00 AM – 9:00 AM
- 8-hour shift with a 30-minute lunch break
- Latest shift end time: 6:00 PM
- Overtime as needed
Pay Rate:
- $23/hr
Required Experience:
- Must have 5 years of sit-down and stand-up forklift experience
Primary Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently operate various types of powered industrial trucks, including forklifts and order pickers
- Load and unload trailers and trucks with raw materials, finished goods, or waste products
- Select orders and put away inbound materials
- Pack orders and prepare shipments as needed
- Unpack inbound materials and place inventory into designated storage locations
- Perform and document daily pre-operation equipment inspections
- Report maintenance or safety concerns to ensure equipment remains in safe working condition
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment by removing waste and debris
- Move, stack, and stage products, materials, and cases in designated areas, including high-racking systems
- Use handheld RF scanners to accurately track and record product movement
- Maintain manual logs and records when required
- Follow all company safety procedures, operational guidelines, and compliance standards
- Perform additional duties and tasks as assigned
- Maintain exemplary attendance and schedule adherence
Critical Skills
- Ability to read, write, speak, hear, and understand English
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience operating:
- RF scanners
- Pallet jacks
- Selecting carts
- Packing equipment (tape machines, etc.)
- Various cutting instruments
- Ability to operate PCs, printers, and basic computer systems
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, twist, crouch, crawl, and reach above shoulder level for extended periods
- Must be able to remain on feet for up to 8 hours per shift
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs unassisted
- Ability to move more than 50 lbs with assistance when required
- Strong visual abilities including:
- Close vision
- Distance vision
- Color vision
- Peripheral vision
- Depth perception
- Ability to adjust focus
- Regular use of phones, computers, monitors, and office equipment
- Ability to type on a keyboard and read computer screens/monitors
