AutoCAD Technician

Support the Document Management Team at Stanton Energy Center by using AutoCAD and Autodesk Vault to manipulate and maintain plant drawings. This role supports the Engineering staff and other departments by ensuring the accuracy and availability of critical design documents.

• Create, maintain, and update detailed mechanical and electrical system drawings for the energy plant

• Review and edit technical drawings, plans, maps using AutoCAD

• Export, archive, and import drawing files from engineering teams

• Conduct field investigations to verify structures within Stanton Energy Center

• Maintain quality control of the drawing management system (Autodesk Vault)

• Coordinate drawing data exchange with internal teams and external stakeholders

• Train and support junior CAD staff; conduct QC on submitted drawings

• Ensure up-to-date documentation for efficient system planning and upgrades

• Perform additional duties as directed by supervisor

• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Autodesk Vault

• 3 years in a CAD drafting/designing role

• Experience with:

  • Mechanical, Structural, and Civil Engineering drawings

  • Electrical and Control Diagrams

  • Piping and Instrument Diagrams (P&IDs)

  • Power plant equipment and operational practices (coal and gas units)

  • Electric circuits and utility infrastructure mapping

  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

• Familiarity with software: AutoCAD, Vault, Footprints, ePets, ArcMap

• Understanding of industry safety, documentation, and drawing standards

• High School Diploma or GED required

• Preferred coursework: Mechanical/Architectural Drafting, Industrial Design

• Special training to be completed within one year of hire:

  • Confined Space Entry

  • Substation Entry Protocol

  • Transmission High Line Entry Protocol

  • Florida Coordinating Committee MOT Certified Courses

  • Defensive Driving

  • Autodesk Vault

  • ArcMap Safety
