Role Overview:

As a Cosmetology Substitute Teacher, your primary responsibility will be to provide temporary instruction in the absence of full-time instructors. Your expertise will play a crucial role in maintaining the learning momentum for students and ensuring they receive the essential practical and theoretical guidance necessary for their success in the beauty industry.

Key Responsibilities:

• Execute lesson plans and instructional activities as directed, engaging students in hands-on learning experiences
• Demonstrate various cosmetology techniques and practices effectively
• Evaluate and assess student performance, providing constructive feedback
• Create a positive and supportive classroom environment that encourages participation and creativity
• Ensure adherence to safety and sanitation protocols in all classroom activities

Requirements

Qualifications:

• A valid Educator License from the State of Illinois is a must
• Experience in the cosmetology field with practical knowledge of techniques is a plus
• Prior teaching or educational experience is a plus
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage students
• Passion for teaching and a commitment to student growth and development

In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country, the expected salary range for this position is between $19.00 and $22.00/hr. Actual pay will be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
