What You Will Do
The Network Engineer Manager serves as a key steward for the Cooperative, representing the Communications division with professionalism and technical expertise. This role oversees the management of core network equipment and critical interconnects, ensuring the design, implementation, operation, and continuous improvement of a robust fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) network and supporting smart grid communications infrastructure. The position is accountable for both technical leadership and people management, ensuring the network is secure, resilient, scalable, and aligning the network operations with organizational objectives to deliver high-quality communication services.
Additionally, this position actively engages in all phases of service management including design, transition, operation, outage restoration, and continuous improvement. The role may provide support for incident escalations and problem resolution while collaborating with suppliers and internal departments to achieve operational goals. This position bridges IT, OT, and field operations, supporting mission-critical systems including SCADA, ADMS, OMS, AMI, substation communications, and enterprise IP services, while also enabling high-quality broadband service to Members.

What You Bring To Trico
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering or related field and 4 years of experience in Network Engineering/Telecommunications is preferred; or 7 years’ experience in Network Engineering/Telecommunications management in lieu of education.
- Industry certifications (CCNA/JNCIA level or above), CCNP/JNCIP level preferred.
- Prior experience with Cisco/Juniper routing, data center switches, DNS/DHCP servers and firewalls (Fortinet/ Palo Alto).
- Vendor experience with common utility or ISP platforms (e.g. Calix, Adtran, Nokia, etc.).
- Must have or obtain and maintain a valid Arizona Driver License.
- Previous experience in a Cooperative is preferred.
