Job Summary
As the Assistant General Manager (AGM), you will serve as the "co-captain" to the General Manager, overseeing all aspects of hotel operations with a focus on guest and employee satisfaction, financial performance, and revenue generation. You will lead a high-energy team to deliver the Aloft brand service strategy, ensuring that our 4,000 sq ft of event space, signature W XYZ bar, and airport transportation services operate with seamless efficiency.
Core Work Activities
Operational Leadership: Manage daily shift operations across all departments—Front Office, Housekeeping, and Engineering—especially in the General Manager's absence.
Event & Banquet Management: Oversee the execution of meetings and events in the 4,000 sq ft of event space, ensuring all Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and brand setup standards are met.
Food & Beverage Oversight: Direct daily breakfast service, the W XYZ bar, and evening food offerings; monitor inventory, food costs, and compliance with health and alcohol service regulations.
Airport Logistics: Maintain strict oversight of the airport shuttle service, ensuring scheduling aligns with peak flight times and safety protocols are followed.
Financial & Revenue Management: Review financial statements, sales reports, and activity data to identify cost-reduction opportunities and drive property profitability.
Talent Development: Support HR activities including recruiting, hiring, and conducting thorough orientations to foster a culturally diverse and high-performing workplace.
Education and Experience
High school diploma or GED; 4 years of experience in guest services, front desk, housekeeping, or related professional area.
OR a 2-year degree from an accredited university in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, or Business Administration; 2 years of experience in the guest services, front desk, or housekeeping area.
Preferred: Prior supervisory experience in Food and Beverage or as a Department Head.
Skills And Requirements
Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a high-pressure, fast-paced airport hotel environment.
Technical Proficiency: Expert knowledge of Property Management Systems (PMS) and Microsoft Windows.
Physical: Ability to stand for an entire shift and work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
