The Maintenance Manager oversees maintenance staff across all three shifts, ensuring a flexible schedule to support the facility's 24/7 operations. This role includes supervising personnel, assigning and scheduling work, requisitioning materials and supplies, inspecting equipment, buildings, and grounds, and estimating work hours and materials required for projects. The Maintenance Manager is also responsible for planning, budgeting, and implementing procedures for the maintenance department, serving as the leader of a large, multi-shift maintenance team.
Skills required:
- Demonstrated high-level mechanical aptitude and ability in hydraulics, pneumatics, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and general manufacturing maintenance.
- Ability to work independently or in a group/team atmosphere;
- Good organizational and time management skills;
- Able to assist in after-hours emergencies
- Good customer service;
- All types of mechanical and electrical systems
- Good understanding of refrigeration (Ammonia in PA, Freon in NY) and HVAC systems.
- PLC/Logic
- Welding and fabricating stainless steel
- Packaging equipment such as conveyors, cutters, baggers, etc.
- Strong background working with and developing preventative maintenance schedules.
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Working use of basic math and reading skills.
- Able to use basic hand tools and power tools.
- Able to read blueprints and do layout work/sketches.
- Basic knowledge of gas, gas tungsten (TIG), gas metal (MIG), and arc welding. Also able to use the plasma cutter.
- Timely analysis and repair of all breakdowns in plants using basic troubleshooting skills.
- Fabrication experience a plus.
- Working experience in a Maintenance management program.
- Demonstrate a high level of communication, cooperation, and teamwork with production operators.
- Properly prioritize issues and take personal accountability to make sure all repairs fit the core value of "excellence."
- Promote company culture.
- English skills must be proficient to understand, read, write, and speaking English. Spanish a plus
- Forklift operation
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or related field or equivalent experience with a High School or Trade School Diploma.
- Prior supervisory experience (must have managed technical personnel in the past)
- 5-7 years of maintenance management experience, preferably in food processing and/or production equipment.
- A valid driver's license and reliable transportation with insurance and registration.
