Role Overview
We’re hiring an experienced HR Generalist to join our North American HR team at our Sumter, SC headquarters. You will independently manage a broad range of HR functions focused on an hourly operations workforce: recruiting and onboarding, payroll and benefits support, leave and compliance administration, HR communications, and employee relations. This is a hands‑on role partnering with leaders and employees to ensure accurate HR administration, regulatory compliance and consistent application of policies while fostering a positive, engaged workplace.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage full‑cycle recruitment, pre‑employment screening and onboarding for hourly plant and operations roles in line with workforce plans.
- Administer payroll/time & attendance and benefits systems; ensure accurate employee data and support bi‑weekly payroll processing (independently run payroll at least quarterly).
- Maintain employee records: timecards, attendance, personnel files, testing and compliance documentation.
- Coordinate DOT/OSHA drug & alcohol testing (pre‑employment, random, post‑accident, reasonable/suspicious) and maintain testing records.
- Manage annual Motor Vehicle Records for company drivers per insurance requirements.
- Support FMLA, ADA and worker’s compensation administration and address employee leave needs.
- Deliver monthly HR communications (TV boards, job postings, bulletin boards); serve as point of contact for employee inquiries and vendor interactions.
- Support HR audits, reporting and special projects; ensure compliance with federal, state and local employment laws and proactively mitigate compliance risks.
- Promote fair, consistent application of HR policies and positive employee relations across a diverse workforce.
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or equivalent experience.
- 3–5 years progressive HR Generalist/Business Partner experience, preferably in manufacturing.
- Hands‑on experience with multi‑state payroll processing, timekeeping systems, benefits administration and HR policies.
- Demonstrated success recruiting and onboarding hourly workforces.
- Strong communication, organization and problem‑solving skills; ability to handle confidential, time‑sensitive information with professionalism.
- Proven ability to work effectively with a diverse employee population.
Preferred Qualifications
- SHRM‑CP/SHRM‑SCP or PHR/SPHR certification.
- Experience administering FMLA, ADA and worker’s compensation programs.
- Experience supporting multi‑state and multi‑country workforces.
