Job Title: Medical Reimbursement Specialist Team Lead

Supervised by: Coordinator, Billing
Position Overview: Coordinates, in partnership with the Billing Coordinator, the billing and administrative operations for the Onyx Group Billing Department. Responsible for day-to-day operations including, but not limited to promotion of teamwork, adherence to applicable policies and procedures, and delivery of the overall patient experience. This position is responsible for training, answering questions, and establishing strong relationships with patients and insurance companies. Medical Reimbursement Specialists will utilize Lead for billing, claim, and insurance concerns.

Responsibilities:
- Works directly with Coordinator to identify new approaches and solutions to billing processes
- Responsible for ensuring all new MRS and IV team members are trained accurately and completely
- Works on MRS and IV tasks when team members are out or if a team falls behind on their tasks
- Provides functional and process expertise to IV and MRS including answering questions and running reports as needed
- Assists with development and maintenance of billing rules and regulations
- Miscellaneous tasks assigned by Coordinator; such as leading meetings, working on spreadsheets, insurance representative communications, and attending additional team meetings
- Maintains strictest confidentiality; adheres to all HIPAA guidelines/regulations; also conducts self in accordance with the Onyx employee handbook

- Physician billing and physician office experience. Excellent customer service skills; ability to work effectively with patients, team members and the public.
- Prefer leadership experience
- Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance practices. Skilled in gathering, interpreting and reporting insurance information and trouble-shooting issues. Ability to identify claim problems and recommend solutions. Strong in leadership, team development and situational assessment skills as well as problem-solving. Strong ethics, and a high level of personal and professional integrity needed.
