Role Description
This is a freelance, hybrid role for a Social Media Manager located in Chicago, IL. The Social Media Manager will work closely with Tribe’s team to oversee day-to-day management of client accounts across Instagram, TikTok, and other platforms. Responsibilities include scheduling and posting, managing content calendars, writing captions, engaging with communities, and supporting creative campaigns. This role is primarily remote with some in-person collaboration in Chicago. The workload will be approximately 15–20 hours per week.
Main Responsibilities
- Manage and execute social media content calendars for multiple clients (real estate, wellness, lifestyle, and professional services).
- Write engaging, on-brand captions tailored to each client’s voice and audience.
- Schedule and publish content across platforms using scheduling tools.
- Track performance and support monthly analytics reporting.
- Engage with client communities (comments, DMs, story engagement).
- Stay up-to-date on trends, sounds, and platform updates to inform creative strategy.
- Collaborate with the Tribe team and graphic designers to ensure cohesive brand storytelling.
- Participate in occasional in-person content shoots, planning sessions, or strategy meetings.
Qualifications
- Strong understanding of Instagram, TikTok, and emerging social platforms.
- Proven experience managing social media for brands or businesses.
- Excellent copywriting skills with the ability to adapt tone and style.
- Organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently.
- Must be based in Chicago, IL, and available for occasional in-person work.
- Must not be working a full-time job; ideal for freelancers seeking 15–20 hours/week of ongoing work.
- Portfolio of past work or examples of managed accounts required.
