Job Title: Registered Peer Recovery Specialist (RPRS)
Job Overview
TRIBE HEALTHCARE is seeking a compassionate and motivated Registered Peer Recovery Specialist (RPRS) to support individuals experiencing mental health and substance use challenges. This role uses lived experience in recovery to provide peer support services that promote stability, independence, and long-term wellness.
The RPRS serves as a mentor, advocate, and support partner, helping individuals build recovery skills, connect to resources, and actively participate in their care. This position plays a key role in delivering person-centered, recovery-oriented services in a supportive and team-based environment.
Core Responsibilities
- Provide peer support services using lived experience to promote hope, recovery, and resilience
- Assist individuals in developing and working toward person-centered recovery goals
- Support individuals in identifying triggers, coping skills, and relapse prevention strategies
- Encourage engagement in treatment, appointments, and community-based services
- Provide crisis support and de-escalation, ensuring safety and stabilization
- Facilitate connections to housing, employment, medical, and community resources
- Document all services in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) accurately and timely
- Maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries at all times
- Collaborate with team members to support coordinated care
- Promote self-advocacy, independence, and recovery-oriented decision-making
Documentation Requirements
- Complete accurate, timely, and signed progress notes for each service provided
- Ensure documentation includes:
- Service provided
- Time (start/end)
- Location
- Individual response
- Progress toward recovery goals
Minimum Qualifications
- Lived experience with mental health and/or substance use recovery
- Active Registered Peer Recovery Specialist (RPRS) credential (or eligible)
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to pass background checks
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in behavioral health, community services, or recovery programs
- Familiarity with EHR systems
- Training in Motivational Interviewing, Trauma-Informed Care, or Crisis Intervention
