Overview
Physical Therapy Assistant
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Clinician who understands and respects the values of our tribal communities. Together, staff will provide care that meets the needs of the community and offers a meaningful and culturally responsive experience for both patients and their families.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Implement physical therapy treatment plans as established by the Physical Therapist
- Guide patients through therapeutic exercises to improve strength, flexibility, and range of motion
- Assist with mobility, gait, balance, and fall-prevention training
- Perform transfer training (bed, chair, standing, and walking)
- Apply therapeutic modalities such as heat, cold, and electrical stimulation
- Monitor patient tolerance and response to treatment and report progress or concerns to the Physical Therapist
- Accurately document therapy sessions and patient progress in accordance with clinical standards
- Licensure: Associate degree from accredited PTA program
- Passed the National Physical Therapy Exam (NPTE) for PTAs
- Active state license in the state of practice
- Certifications: BLS (AHA)
- Immunizations: Based on client need
- Experience required: Based on client need
