Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mammography Technologist Supervisor to lead our diagnostic imaging team in providing exceptional mammography services. This leadership role involves overseeing the daily operations of mammography procedures, ensuring adherence to radiation safety protocols, and maintaining the highest standards of patient care. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of radiologic imaging, medical terminology, and advanced imaging techniques such as PET scans, DEXA scans, and interventional radiology. Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate all mammography procedures, ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
- Oversee the operation of radiologic imaging equipment, including mammography units, CT scanners, fluoroscopy, nuclear medicine devices, and DEXA scanners.
- Implement radiation safety procedures to protect patients and staff while maintaining diagnostic image quality.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to technologists performing ultrasound (sonography), interventional radiology, PET scans, and other advanced imaging modalities.
- Ensure accurate documentation of procedures, patient information, and technical data in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with physicians in diagnostic evaluation processes across various specialties including emergency medicine, trauma centers (Level I & II), and urgent care settings.
- Maintain proficiency in medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, physiology, and radiology best practices.
- Monitor departmental performance metrics; identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance efficiency and patient outcomes.
- Facilitate ongoing staff training on new technologies, safety protocols, and procedural updates.
- Ensure compliance with aseptic techniques during invasive procedures and interventional radiology interventions.
Qualifications
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Associate’s Degree in Diagnostic Radiography or a related field; relevant experience and/or training may be substituted year-for-year for formal education.
- Minimum of five (5) years of mammography experience and two (2) years of lead or supervisory experience.
- ARRT Registered Radiologic Technologist in good standing.
- ARRT (M) Mammography Certification.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
