What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shift Lead 2nd shift position at Triangle Rubber Co?
This position is 2nd shift from 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. Monday - Friday.
Qualifications:
Must be able to lift 50 lbs. and be able to push/pull up to 1000 lbs. on pallet jacks.
Must be able to use tools such as scissors, wire cutters, brushes, and tape.
Must be able to follow setup instructions (in English).
Must be able to climb ladders.
Must have strong communication skills.
Must be flexible and willing to work in different areas based on current needs
Must be able to sit/stand in one area for an 8-hour shift.
Must be able to work overtime/weekends when needed.
Must be able to drive forklift
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Know and understand Triangle’s handbook, procedures, and work instructions.
2. Arrive 15 minutes prior to the start of shift, and stay 15 minutes after end of shift
3. Trained on all essential production positions, including Molding Machine Operator, Shipping, Quality Tech and Materials
4. Assist employees with Rockware calls and scrap entry as needed
5. Responsible for covering Production Cell Operator breaks (defined on matrix)
6. Ensure all personnel follow all policies and procedures in the handbook and work instructions.
7. Coordinate daily schedules with Plant Manager / Plant Supervisor. Assign Operators to production cells based on the priorities set by the Plant Manager / Plant Supervisor.
8. Train new employees when there is an overflow of training needed from Quality Tech, and provide training documentation for HR.
9. Train current employees when there is overflow training needed from the Quality Tech. on new jobs, and provide training documentation to HR
10. Lead all team members on your shift, escalating any attendance, safety, or performance issues to Plant Supervisor
11. Fill out and send a daily shift report.
12. Work in various production departments, including Molding, Materials, Shipping and Quality, based on current production needs
13. Ensure operators have required items, such as totes, inserts, components, and packaging supplies at the workstation
14. Assist with basic level process troubleshooting (restart machines or similar tasks)
15. Load / unload trucks as needed (back up to Shipping)
16. Follow all Quality System procedures and communicate any issues to others.
17. Maintain machine uptime and overall shift productivity.
18. Participate in plant startup / shutdown activities.
19. Ensure any work-related injuries are reported properly and immediately.
20. Issue Communication logs as needed, provide information to HR and Plant Supervisor
21. Review time and attendance for employees on your shift daily and issue attendance warnings as defined by the policy.
22. Participate with HR in issuing corrective actions / written warnings for your team members if needed
23. Other duties as assigned by the Plant Supervisor
