Job Summary

Triangle Press is seeking an experienced Print Estimator to prepare accurate and competitive job estimates using EFI PrintSmith 7.0. This role is critical to planning, organizing, and scheduling production work. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, technically skilled, and thrives under deadline pressure.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare estimates for all production jobs based on customer specifications received from Sales, Customer Service, and Management

• Analyze job documentation to determine labor, materials, time, and cost requirements

• Engineer the most efficient and cost-effective production plan for each project

• Evaluate multiple production methods and recommend the most economical solution

• Plan jobs using a variety of substrates, printing methods, and finishing options

• Track and analyze job histories and trends to identify cost-saving opportunities

• Research, source, negotiate, and obtain competitive pricing from suppliers and subcontractors

• Maintain accurate data within estimating platforms and cost databases

• Prepare and assist with bid submissions, scope letters, and related documentation

• Participate in department meetings to support goals and continuous improvement

• Consult with Sales, vendors, and production teams to ensure accurate estimates

• Identify larger sales opportunities and communicate them to management

• Send estimate follow-up emails as required

• Collaborative mindset, able to work across all levels of the organization

• Some sales experience is desirable

Experience & Knowledge

• 3–5 years of commercial print estimating experience (preferred)

• Experience with estimating software (EFI PrintSmith preferred)

• In-depth knowledge of print production processes, materials, and finishing

• Understanding of cost accounting for printing, paper, ink, and purchasing

• Knowledge of mailing services, layout standards, spoilage, and finishing requirements

• Familiarity with printing equipment and respective run speeds

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
