General Summary: Equipment Operator - Mining
Responsible for the safe operation of mining equipment
Primary Responsibilities
· Safely operate heavy equipment (dozers, haul trucks, etc.) in a mining environment
· Perform daily equipment safety checks/inspections; report concerns as identified
· Ensure all work areas are organized and clean
· Understand and help develop clay mining techniques
· Use of radios for communication
· Secure all tools, mobile equipment and keys at the end of each shift
· Participate in the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the mining and processing of selected clay materials; actively understand the relationship of material being mined and its effect on the final product
· All other duties as requested or assigned
· Work is primarily outdoors in all weather conditions
Skills and Abilities
· Prioritize SAFETY first, then QUALITY and PRODUCTION
· Must be willing and able to perform based on MSHA regulations
· Heavy equipment experience
· Must be willing and able to work overtime, as required
· Must be able to stand, stoop, bend, climb and lift 50 lbs.
