Responsibilities
- Measure and record vital signs accurately, such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiratory rate
- Prepare patients for procedures by explaining processes and ensuring comfort and safety
- Assist with dietary and meal preparation
- Support clinical procedures including medication administration
- Assist with specimen collection, processing, and proper labeling for laboratory analysis
- Monitor patient progress and communicate updates to healthcare providers promptly
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Medical Assistant in inpatient or outpatient settings, preferably within hospital medicine or emergency medicine environments. Experience with psychiatry a plus.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required; additional certifications such as X-ray operation or medication administration are advantageous
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and ICD coding practices
- Excellent patient service skills with the ability to handle sensitive situations professionally and compassionately
- Ability to work effectively in high-pressure environments such as emergency or urgent care settings
