Job Skills / Requirements

We are seeking a skilled Building Engineer with commercial HVAC experience to join our commercial facilities maintenance team at Flatiron Crossings Mall. Pay range is $33/hour to $35/hour depending on experience. We offer vacation and sick time, paid holidays and benefits including medical, dental, vision & 401k with employer match. Schedule is Tuesday through Saturday 9am to 5:30pm.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for the general maintenance, and repair of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems throughout the facility as well as other facility needs. The Building Engineer will ensure that our retail environment remains comfortable for both customers and staff while adhering to safety and efficiency standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Perform routine maintenance and inspections on commercial HVAC systems to ensure optimal performance.

- Troubleshoot and repair HVAC equipment, including chillers, boilers, air handling units, and refrigeration systems.

- Respond promptly to HVAC service requests and emergencies, prioritizing customer and tenant satisfaction.

- Maintain accurate records of work performed, including maintenance logs and service reports.

- Collaborate with the facility management team to develop and implement energy-saving initiatives.

- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment.

- Assist in the installation of new HVAC systems and upgrades as needed.

- Keep abreast of industry trends and new technologies to enhance skills and service delivery.

**On-call may be required outside of regularly scheduled hours.

Education/Experience:

- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in HVAC systems preferred.

- Valid HVAC certification and relevant licenses.

- Minimum of 3 years of experience in HVAC maintenance and repair, preferably in a commercial setting.

- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, components, and tools.

- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.

- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.

Computer Skills:

Basic computer skills preferred.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to work near moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, outdoor weather conditions, risk of electrical shock and vibration.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.- Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment (up to 75 lbs).

- Comfort working in various environments, including confined spaces and on ladders.

- Willingness to work in varying temperatures and conditions.
