Director of Policy, Compliance, and Procurement - Apex

Position Summary:
The Director of Policy, Compliance, and Procurement will oversee the organization's financial risk, procurement processes, legal compliance, contract management, and asset oversight. This position ensures alignment with organizational goals while maintaining strict adherence to legal,ethical, and procedural standards. The role includes managing the staff handbook,
organizational policies, and compliance with all regulatory requirements. Reporting directly to the Deputy Superintendent of Operations, the Director collaborates across departments to drive efficiency, accountability, and adherence to best practices.

Qualifications:

? Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field
(Master’s degree preferred).
? Minimum of 5 years of experience in compliance, procurement, contract management, or
a related field, including RFP creation, bid management, and risk assessments.
? Proven expertise in financial and legal compliance in multi-location or public sector
organizations, charter school experience is preferred.
? Strong leadership, analytical, and organizational skills, with a track record of driving
operational excellence.
? Proficiency in inventory management

Key Responsibilities:
Policy, Compliance, and Risk Management
? Develop, revise, and enforce organizational policies, including the staff handbook.
? Oversee compliance with legal, procedural, and regulatory standards across all
operations.
? Identify and assess risks that could affect organizational integrity, financial health, or
operations.
? Develop and implement risk management strategies, including safety, security, and
business continuity plans.
? Conduct periodic audits and reviews to ensure adherence to internal controls and
compliance requirements.
? Prepare and present compliance reports to senior leadership and external regulators as
needed.
Procurement and Financial Oversight
? Manage the operational purchasing process, ensuring alignment with organizational
goals and budgetary guidelines.
? Develop and administer Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and bid documentation for
significant purchases.

? Analyze bids, negotiate terms, and maintain relationships with vendors to achieve cost-
effective, high-quality procurement solutions.
? Monitor and evaluate vendor performance, ensuring alignment with organizational needs
and standards.
? Prepare comprehensive purchasing reports, including cost analyses, spending trends,
and strategic recommendations.
Contract Management
? Oversee the contract lifecycle, including the development, negotiation, review, and
signing of contracts.
? Monitor and manage contract renewals, terminations, and compliance with contractual
obligations.
? Maintain an organized repository of all contracts and ensure timely updates and
notifications for key milestones.
? Collaborate with legal advisors to address contractual disputes or modifications.
Inventory and Asset Management
? Implement and maintain a centralized system for inventory and asset management
across all locations.
? Ensure accurate tracking, maintenance, and disposal of assets in compliance with
organizational policies and regulatory requirements.
? Conduct regular audits to verify inventory accuracy and prevent misuse or misallocation.
? Develop strategies to optimize asset utilization and reduce wastage.
Leadership and Collaboration
? Collaborate with school principals, assistant principals of operations, and central office
departments to ensure aligned procurement, compliance, and asset management
processes.
? Provide training and guidance to staff on updated policies, procedures, and compliance
standards.
? Lead initiatives to enhance organizational practices, promoting a culture of ethical and
effective operations.
? Supervise and mentor support staff to ensure effective implementation of compliance,
contract, and procurement processes.

Salary : $81,416 - $97,900
