Quality Assurance Specialist

Our client is a leading fabrication and machining source for large scale manufacturing. They are seeking a Quality Assurance Specialist/Engineer to provide support for the their quality assurance program. This person will gain experience in both complex fabrication/machining activities and related quality control and assurance codes and standards. A detail orientated approach to their work and an understanding of manufacturing methods is key to success.

Responsibilities will include:

• Perform duties, as necessary, to ensure that the quality assurance program is effectively implemented on the manufacturing floor.
• Review and interpret relevant specifications.
• Initiate nonconformances, corrective actions, and assist with corrective and preventive actions.
• Ability to diagnose, report, track, and resolve quality related problems.
• Verify quality related products and quality related documentation deliverables meet the quality assurance program and customer requirements.
• The QAE will assist management in identifying and communicating applicable customer, regulatory, and quality requirements.

Background profile:

• 0-3 years’ experience in a fabrication environment, preferably job-shop (preferred). Work is conducted in a custom fab/machining setting. The person will be required to be in production areas at times.
• Excellent communication skills for use across the spectrum from craftsmen to top management.
• Ability to comprehend the architecture of the means/methods/processes outlined in ISO 9001.
• Knowledge of Quality Control and Quality Assurance preferred such as experience with ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.
• Knowledge of material specifications. (ASTM & ASME) (preferred)
• Knowledge of welding specifications. (MIL & ASME) (preferred)
• Proficient with MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)
• Due to the nature of the work, US citizenship is required
