Triad Associates is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented individual to join our Team. We are looking for an entry level affordable housing specialist with 1 years of experience to assist low- and moderate-income households to obtain decent, safe, sanitary and affordable housing.
This is an exciting opportunity to join our consulting firm who has an impressive track record in carrying out a diverse portfolio of community, economic development and housing initiatives for over the last 48 years.
The selected candidate will work under the supervision of a project manager who will provide the proper training and tools to demonstrate success in their role.
Responsibilities will include, but not limited to:
· Assist in income certifying households for rental units, home purchase, resales and housing rehabilitation
· Responsible for ensuring compliance will all applicable regulations, ie. New Jersey Uniform Housing Affordability Controls.
· Provide excellent customer service to low- and moderate-income individuals, as well as local municipalities and real estate developers, verbally and in writing.
· Responsible for the collecting, reviewing and documenting eligibility for affordable housing, including income verification.
· Communicate with affordable housing/housing rehabilitation applicants regarding program guidelines, eligibility requirements and documentation required for certification.
· Provide brief interviews regarding housing needs and make appropriate referrals to credit counseling, First Time Homebuyer programs, mortgage lenders, realtors, etc. as needed.
· Prepare program operating manuals, progress reports and official certification documents.
· Prepare deed restrictions, mortgage notes and other documents pertaining to property closings.
· Communicate with municipalities and private real estate developers regarding affordable housing regulations.
· Data entry of new applicants’ information.
· Maintain case files on all applicants.
· Utilize web-based platforms for customer relations management and project management.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
Key attributes required: strict attention to detail; compliance with program regulations/guidelines, managing multiple projects and adherence to program deadlines. Outstanding written and verbal skills are essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Office products a must. All tasks will be performed under the supervision and mentoring of Senior Staff. Bilingual will be given preference.
