Quality Control Manager - Injection Molding

Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented, experienced, hands-on Quality Control Manager to oversee quality assurance processes within our injection molding manufacturing operations, specifically focusing on injection molding. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing quality control activities on a daily basis, ensuring products meet or exceed established standards and specifications. This role requires strong leadership in quality management, a thorough understanding of injection molding processes, and the ability to implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate all aspects of quality control within the injection molding processes.
• Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance policies, procedures, and standards to ensure or exceed compliance with industry regulations and customer requirements.
• Conduct regular inspections and audits of production lines to monitor product quality and identify areas for improvement.
• Lead root cause analysis investigations for any quality issues or defects, implementing corrective and preventive actions effectively.
• Collaborate with production teams to optimize manufacturing processes, reduce waste, and improve overall product quality.
• Train and supervise quality control staff to ensure adherence to quality standards and proper inspection techniques.
• Maintain detailed records of quality metrics, inspection results, non-conformance reports, scrap reports and corrective actions.
• Stay updated on industry best practices, technological advancements in injection molding, and relevant regulatory changes to continuously enhance quality management systems.
• Continued development of quality standards for the inspection and packaging of products.
• Prepare necessary documentation per customer requirements.
• Conduct or oversee internal and customer quality audits.
• Responsible for preparing all first articles.
• This is a hands on position.

Requirements

• Proven experience or 5 years in quality control management within a manufacturing environment, preferably with expertise in injection molding.
• Understanding of quality assurance methodologies, inspection techniques, and industry standards such as ISO or similar certifications.
• Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage a team effectively and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
• Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills to identify root causes of defects and implement effective solutions.
• Good communication skills to collaborate across departments and report findings clearly.
• Attention to detail with a focus on maintaining high-quality standards throughout the production process.
• Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of quality equipment and instrumentation.

Salary is based on experience.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
