What you can expect in this role:
- Inventory Management: Maintain accurate records of plumbing supplies, tools, and materials in stock. Monitor inventory levels and notify the purchasing department when supplies need to be replenished. Organize and maintain a clean and efficient warehouse.
- Parts Delivery: Prepare and package plumbing parts and materials for delivery to job sites. Load and unload delivery vehicles safely and efficiently. Deliver parts and materials to job sites in a timely manner, ensuring that plumbers have the necessary items to complete their tasks.
- Plumbing Assistance: Assist plumbers with various tasks on the job site, including but not limited to, carrying tools, materials, and equipment, and performing basic plumbing tasks under supervision. Learn and apply basic plumbing techniques and skills under the guidance of experienced plumbers. Maintain a clean and organized work area, including cleaning up debris and removing obstacles to ensure a safe working environment.
- Communication: Coordinate with plumbers to understand their specific requirements for each job. Communicate effectively with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely and accurate deliveries.
- Quality Control: Inspect delivered parts and materials for quality and accuracy. Report any damaged or incorrect items to the purchasing department for replacement.
- Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines while handling and delivering plumbing supplies. Comply with traffic laws and regulations while driving company vehicles.
What skills/experience you'll need to be considered for this role:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and work in a physically demanding environment.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Willingness to learn and assist plumbers with various tasks.
- Basic knowledge of plumbing parts and/or materials preferred.
- Prior experience in a similar role or basic plumbing knowledge is a plus.
