Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Diesel Mechanic. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty diesel-powered equipment and vehicles. All different brands of trucks, from f-550s to tandem axle trucks.
Duties
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, brakes, suspension systems, and electrical components.
- Conduct repairs and maintenance on heavy equipment such as semi tractors, cab and chassis trucks, service trucks, box trucks, and smaller diesel trucks
- Fabricate custom parts or modifications using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and soldering techniques to meet specific repair needs.
- Troubleshoot and repair HVAC systems within equipment and vehicles to maintain proper climate control standards.
- Maintain detailed service records, complete inspection reports, and document repairs accurately to ensure compliance with industry standards.
Skills
- Proven dealership or heavy equipment service technician experience with a strong mechanical background.
- Extensive knowledge of diesel engine repair, transmissions, air brake systems, hydraulics, suspension systems, and alignment procedures.
- Ability to read and interpret OEM schematics and technical manuals effectively.
- Skilled in fabrication techniques including welding, soldering, and assembly of mechanical parts.
- Proficient with automotive diagnostics tools and electrical testing equipment for troubleshooting complex issues.
- Experience operating heavy machinery such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, or tractor-trailers safely and efficiently.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients or team members.
