Equipment Operator
An equipment operator is responsible for operating equipment and performing groundman duties when needed.
Essential Responsibilities:
An equipment operator's responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
· Basic maintenance of machinery, including greasing, cleaning air filters, checking hydraulic fittings, checking for leaks, keeping equipment clean etc.
· Proper site set up
· Maintaining 3-way communication
· Be able to work on uneven ground conditions
· Safe operation and handling of a chain saw
· Safe operation of equipment
· Driving equipment to and from the job site
· Must be able to use chains and binders correctly
As an equipment operator, you must be able to:
· Lift at least 50lbs
· Bend, squat, kneel, twist, climb, pull, reach, and sit for long periods
· Work in all weather conditions i.e., rain, snow, wind, sun, etc.
· Wear all required PPE
· Maintain attention and concentration for extended periods of time
· Must be able to read, write and comprehend instructions and information
All equipment operators are required to follow company, OSHA, ANSI, and DOT rules and regulations that pertain to the industry.
Minimum requirements: Minimum of one (1) years' experience in the tree industry is required. Valid and active CDL, is preferred but not required. Valid and active Hoisting License is required. Tree industry related certifications and licenses, i.e., arborists license(s), ISA certifications, and crane licenses, etc., are preferred, but not required. No formal educational degree required.
