Role Description The Crane Technician role is a full-time, on-site position located in Omaha, NE. This role involves installing, inspecting, repairing, and maintaining overhead cranes, hoists, and related lifting equipment at customer facilities. Daily responsibilities include performing diagnostics and troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, completing field service calls, and conducting routine and preventative equipment maintenance. The technician will document service work, communicate clearly with customers and team members, follow all safety and regulatory standards, and support scheduling and coordination of service projects. This position requires working in industrial environments, occasionally at heights, and using appropriate tools and test equipment.
Qualifications
- Ability to work safely with lifting equipment and overhead cranes, including proper rigging and material handling practices.
- Strong troubleshooting skills for electrical and control systems on cranes and hoists.
- Experience in field service, including on-site diagnostics, repairs, and customer support in industrial settings.
- Background working with heavy equipment, such as cranes, hoists, or similar industrial machinery.
- Proficiency in equipment maintenance, including preventative maintenance, inspections, and documentation.
- High attention to safety, adherence to OSHA and company safety standards, and ability to use PPE and tools correctly.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally to customer sites as required.
- Strong communication and customer service skills, with the ability to explain technical issues clearly.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and work orders.
- Relevant technical training or certification in industrial maintenance, electrical, or mechanical fields; prior crane or hoist experience is a plus.
