Job Summary:
The DME Driver/Technician is responsible for the safe and timely delivery, setup, and pickup of durable medical equipment in patient homes and healthcare facilities. This position serves as a key representative of the company, ensuring patients, caregivers, and family members are properly educated on the use and care of equipment. Key Responsibilities:
- Deliveries & Setup: Deliver, install, and pick up medical equipment (e.g., oxygen, wheelchairs, medical supplies) in a safe and timely manner.
- Patient Education: Instruct patients and caregivers on the safe and effective operation of equipment, ensuring they understand usage and care.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all deliveries, pickups, and service activities using company technology or paperwork.
- Equipment Maintenance: Clean, disinfect, and perform minor repairs on equipment.
- Vehicle Care: Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections, cleaning, and maintenance on assigned company vehicles.
- On-Call Rotation: Participate in scheduled evening and weekend on-call duties.
- Compliance: Adhere to all safety policies, company policies, and HIPAA regulations.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record
- Ability to lift, move, and transport up to 50–60 lbs.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Basic technical knowledge for minor equipment repair and troubleshooting.
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit, kneel, bend, or stand for extended periods.
- Ability to maneuver equipment in tight spaces, such as homes.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
