Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Landscape Operations Manager to lead and oversee all aspects of our landscape operation, maintenance and landscaping projects along with Snow Area Management in the winter months.
In this role, you will be responsible for managing daily operations, supervising teams, ensuring high-quality service delivery, and maintaining the health and beauty of outdoor spaces. Your leadership will drive efficiency, safety, and excellence across all landscape activities, fostering a vibrant environment where team members thrive and clients’ expectations are exceeded.
Summer Landscaping Functions
- Lead and coordinate daily landscape maintenance activities, including lawn care, gardening, horticulture, irrigation, and tree care to ensure pristine outdoor environments.
- Supervise and motivate a team of landscape technicians and crew members, providing clear direction, training, and performance feedback.
- Ensure proper documentation of change orders, timecards, before-and-after photos, and completed job tasks for billing.
- Oversee landscaping projects from planning through execution, ensuring timely completion within budget while maintaining quality standards.
- Implement maintenance schedules for turf management, plant health care, pruning, fertilization, pest control, and irrigation systems.
- Conduct site inspections to monitor safety protocols, environmental compliance, and quality assurance across all landscape operations.
- Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and deliver tailored landscaping solutions that enhance property value and aesthetic appeal.
- Manage procurement of supplies and equipment necessary for landscape projects while optimizing resource utilization.
Winter Snow & Ice Management Functions
In the winter months this position performs the functions of the Snow Area Manager, who directs all snow and ice management operations in a designated geography.
Responsibilities Include:
- Create snow and ice management plans for each property serviced prior to the start of the season.
- Oversee all snow operations including plowing, shoveling, de-icing, brine applications, and post-storm cleanup.
- Create routes, manpower schedules, and subcontractors based on weather forecasts and available equipment.
- Responsible for all equipment trucks, plows, salt spreaders, brine sprayers, are well maintained, fueled, and ready for the next snow event.
- Track weather conditions, communicate with crews and management before, during, and after each snow event.
- Assure that time and activity management applications are available to and being use by each and every member of the workforce.
- Conduct post-event site inspections to assure service quality and safety compliance.
- Quickly respond to customer inquiries and requests for service.
- Coordinate post storm equipment repairs, replenishment of salt, brine and other supplies..
Qualifications
- Proven experience in landscape maintenance, landscaping design, or horticulture with a strong background in lawn care, gardening, construction, or tree care.
- Supervising experience leading teams in outdoor or landscape environments with a focus on leadership and operational efficiency.
- Knowledge of irrigation systems installation and maintenance as well as pest management practices.
- Familiarity with horticultural principles, plant health care techniques, and sustainable landscaping practices.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members, clients, and vendors.
