Tri State Companies LLC, located in Chipley, FL, is hiring an experienced Project Engineer (must be a FL licensed PE) to join our team. This position is contract-based.
A successful candidate can expect to provide site/civil and environmental engineering oversight, and to perform technical reviews and approvals related to design and permitting residential and commercial site development projects, including environmental studies, stormwater management systems, and water and wastewater utilities.
Our clientele ranges from site developers and municipalities to private entities and public utility operators.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Technical skills and knowledge in:
- Site layout including grading
- Retention/detention design for stormwater management systems and their collection and conveyance
- Both gravity and pressurized wastewater systems and extensions
- Potable water systems and connections
- Transportation systems, specifically roadways and pedestrian
- Collaborating with jurisdictional agencies to determine permit requirements, and the preparation of related applications and supporting documentation
- Experience with project management and budgeting
- Working collaboratively with a team of engineers, architects, and support staff
- Executing progress meetings and/or reports for management, clients, and funding agencies related to the status of technical reports, design, construction activities, etc.
- Must be honest and have a desire to make a positive contribution to the communities we serve
- Excellent written and verbal communication is required
- Must have a desire to build and maintain strong client relationships
- AutoCAD, Civil3D, Teams, and Microsoft 365, Adobe Acrobat skills are preferred
Requirements:
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- B.S. in Civil Engineering or above
- 8-10 years of experience in the field or related area.
- Registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of Florida or the ability to obtain Florida certification immediately
