PROJECT SAFETY COORDINATOR – UT HEALTH ROC

Location: Project Site (Field) / Office

Position Type: Full-Time, Salaried-Exempt (Short-Term: Up to 2 years based on project support)

Schedule: Field: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM | Office: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Monday – Friday, plus additional hours as required)

The Opportunity

Are you a rigorous safety professional who thrives on high-stakes, large-scale construction environments? We are seeking a dynamic Project Safety Coordinator to spearhead on-site safety management for the prestigious UT Health ROC project.

In this role, you won't just be checking boxes—you will be the ultimate champion of our "Safety First" culture, ensuring that every worker goes home safely every day. If you possess sharp attention to detail, expert-level knowledge of OSHA standards, and the leadership skills to align trade partners with elite safety practices, we want you on our team.

Key Responsibilities

As the Project Safety Coordinator, you will lead the charge in risk mitigation, compliance, and site security. Your core focus areas will include:

  • Direct and oversee safety enforcement in strict accordance with the UT Rolling Owner Controlled Insurance Program (ROCIP) and trade partner Project Safety Agreements (PSAs).
  • Conduct comprehensive daily job site inspections, proactively resolve hazards, evaluate safety violations, and issue citations when necessary.
  • Secure the site by auditing fencing and surveillance systems. Lead timely investigations into any accidents, injuries, or theft incidents, delivering precise documentation and reporting.
  • Track subcontractor certifications, maintain rigorous accident logs for all personnel, and ensure all job site safety signage is flawless and current.
  • Partner with Superintendents to drive powerful "Toolbox Talks." Facilitate on-site safety orientations, conduct targeted 1-on-1 coaching, and lead collaborative alignment meetings with trade partners to review site layouts and traffic plans.



Qualifications & Expertis

We are looking for an elite safety leader who meets the following strict criteria

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • At least seven (7) consecutive years dedicated exclusively to building construction safety, including a minimum of five (5) years in a Safety Management role
  • Direct, hands-on experience working with UT Safety specifications and regulatory requirements

Advanced Certification

  • Must hold a certificate of completion for the OSHA 500 Trainer Course (or OSHA 502 Update
  • Active certifications in OSHA 510, OSHA 30, and specialized safety area
  • Current, in-person verified certifications for First Aid, CPR, and AED (within the last 2 years
  • Practical knowledge, verified field experience, and documented continuing education (minimum 4 hours per topic) i
  • Fall Protection & Scaffolding (Ground/Suspende
  • Excavation, Trenching, & Confined Spaces
  • Crane Operations & Basic Crane Rigging
  • Electrical Safety & Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)
  • Incident Investigation & Industrial Hygiene
  • Fire Prevention & Respiratory Protection (Note: Documentation supporting the credentials of your training organizations will be required
