We are seeking a detail-oriented Operations Accounting Assistant to join our team.


Job Summary:

The Operations Accounting Assistant supports the Operations and Accounting Departments in the development of Tri-Star’s systems and processes to accurately maintain recordkeeping and administration of accounts. This role allows for exposure to trust operations and financial accounting, which plays an important role in professional development and the opportunity to further grow within Tri-Star Trust.


Responsibilities:

·Ensure accuracy of daily trust accounting including deposits, check requests, etc.

·Complete daily and monthly reconciliation of house and demand deposit accounts to ensure accurate cash balances.

·Serve as back-up for custody and vault operations and reconciliation for physical securities registered in account name and held on site at Tri-Star Trust.

·Assist Relationship Managers and Portfolio Managers with reporting and processing client requests.

·Assist with new client relationships and help facilitate the timely processing of asset transfers, scheduled receipts, scheduled distributions and miscellaneous receipt and distribution request.

·Assist with quarterly tax payments and year-end tax preparation and distribution.

·Process, enter, and code vendor invoices, check requests, and expense reports into the accounting system.

·Prepare check runs, ACH, and electronic payments.

·Reconcile accounts payable transactions and resolve discrepancies.

·Maintain vendor files and respond to vendor inquiries.

·Support month-end close and audits as needed.

·Engage in continuous training and development to stay abreast of system updates, regulatory changes, and industry best practices.

·Other duties as assigned.


Required Skills/Abilities:

·The ability to understand and learn multiple software platforms and the integration with each other.

·Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

·Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

·Proven experience building and maintaining relationships.

·Ability to learn and work with trust accounting system and financial accounting software.


Education and Experience:

·Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, finance, or equivalent experience.

·1-3 years’ experience in Finance or Accounting, preferred
