POSITION OVERVIEW
Tri-Star Design, Inc., a rapidly growing product design services company, is seeking a Part-time Supply Chain Manager to join our Product Development team.
The Supply Chain Manager oversees the engineering prototype manufacturing process from raw material procurement to final prototype delivery while maximizing efficiency, minimizing costs, and ensuring on-time delivery. Key roles include negotiating contracts, COGS development, third-party contract manufacturing management, and DFM oversight.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The Part-time Supply Chain Managers’ primary job responsibilities shall include:
- Perform DFM tasks during design review process
- Develop Costed Bill of Materials
- Identify and qualify new suppliers
- Identify optimal shipment and transportation routes
- Function as part of the team coordinating engineering changes
- Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to purchase raw materials and components.
- Coordinate transportation, warehousing, and shipping to ensure products reach customers efficiently.
- Develop contingency plans for disruptions, such as supplier failures or transportation bottlenecks.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or Engineering, focusing on supply chain management and operations
- The ability to communicate with customers and vendors, both in writing and verbally, in a clear, professional manner
- A self-starter who is able to operate independently.
- Strong people skills; natural customer service orientation and disposition. Candidate must enjoy working with clients and supporting internal customers in the organization
- Flexible and positive attitude that fosters team spirit
- Experience using Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
