Duties
- Perform thorough cleaning of offices, restrooms, hallways, and common areas using appropriate cleaning equipment and chemical agents.
- Handle custodial tasks such as dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and trash removal to uphold high cleanliness standards.
- Operate floor buffers and other specialized equipment to maintain floor care including buffing, polishing, and stripping floors.
- Follow safety protocols for chemical handling to ensure safe use of cleaning agents and prevent accidents.
- Conduct sanitation procedures in kitchens and restrooms to meet health regulations and hygiene standards.
- Assist with light maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs or minor repairs to ensure facility upkeep.
- Adhere to safety practices during manual handling and heavy lifting activities to prevent injuries and maintain a safe work environment.
Experience
- Prior janitorial or custodial experience in commercial or residential settings is preferred.
- Familiarity with cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, vacuums, and chemical sprayers is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of chemical handling safety procedures and sanitation standards is essential.
- Experience with facilities maintenance or porter duties will be considered an asset.
- Strong customer service skills to interact professionally with clients and team members.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while following proper lifting practices.
- Previous experience in commercial cleaning or related fields like residential painting or general maintenance is advantageous.
