Short Description:
The Contract Analyst is responsible for Contract Management and Procurement of labor / services, and equipment and materials in connection with construction projects as a W2 employee of Tri-Power working as a contractor with its electric utility client located in Long Island NY.
Role requires experience in procurement and contracting to support clients capital construction projects. Specifically, right candidate shall develop, and implement Request for Proposals (RFPs), manage RFP process from pre bid to award, evaluate bids (commercial, technical and pricing) and make recommendations. Work also requires contract documents creation and the management of contracts pre and post execution. Candidate shall also issue purchase orders and manage contract changes (ie. change orders and amendments) during the performance of the construction projects work.
Right person will have education and experience (up to 4 yrs) to craft, issue, evaluate and contract for construction projects from RFP to contract execution and throughout the contract lifecycle. Person must be able to work independently in a fast paced environment but achieve the result of accurate procurement RFP / contract from cradle to grave, including all planning, contract development, and contract administration after contract is issued. Must be a quick learner and adapt to client procurement policies and procedures as well as compliance. Job is focused on day-to-day RFP issuance and management to result in generation of contract documents and changes through contract lifecycle of a contract. Must be able to coordinate with project clients and contractors and be available to work on site at client location and perform site walkdowns as part of the bid process.
Job Responsibilities
• Craft RFP documents (RFP, SOW, pricing, terms, etc.)
• Conduct Pre-bid Meetings & Site Walk downs
• Manage bids and evaluate offers
• Manage supplier Diversity (MWBE & Service Disabled Veteran Owned Business SDVOB)
• Perform price and commercial analysis and evaluate bids based on set criteria.
• Craft recommendations to award after bid review
• Craft final contract documents and manage execution of contract including any internal reviews and documentation required before contract execution.
• Have a proven ability to issue RFPs, perform bid analytics and draft recommendations to award documents.
• Proven ability to negotiate contract terms/ amendments.
• Advanced knowledge of Excel is essential and may be tested during the interview process (if selected for interview)
Qualifications:
• Bachelor of Science in Business or a related degree
• Minimum of four years of relevant experience including with executing Construction Services Contracts.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
• Working knowledge of SAP, Ariba and Power Advocate software experience is preferred.
• Strong negotiation, communication, organizational and team-building skills.
** This position will be Hybrid/remote or in-office as decided by the company- a candidate must be willing to work under both conditions. Site walk downs / meeting may occur 2 to 3 times a month so travel in Long Island NY is required.
