Tri Pointe Homes Houston is looking for an experienced individual to join our talented group as a Product Development Specialist.

 

Position Highlights: Coordinates product development projects across internal teams and external consultants. Ensures timely delivery of complete, compliant construction documents while supporting design problem-solving, field issue resolution, and process improvements.

 

Position Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, and consultants on product design, development, and document production
  • Manage project timelines and track deliverables to ensure deadlines and milestones are met
  • Compile, review, and submit construction documents for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with codes and jurisdictional requirements
  • Facilitate design changes and value engineering efforts across Product Development, Purchasing, Construction, and Sales
  • Oversee preparation and submittal of plans to municipalities, HOAs, and regulatory agencies
  • Support bidding processes by assembling product-related documentation and clarifying scope with Purchasing and trade partners
  • Participate in model home planning, sales center design, and prototype/first-build walks
  • Identify, track, and help resolve field and constructability issues through coordination with stakeholders
  • Serve as a key liaison between internal teams and external partners to ensure alignment and communication
  • Contribute to process improvements and standardization initiatives

 

Position Qualifications:

  • Associates or Bachelors degree in Architecture, Construction Management or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 3 or more years of experience in residential product development, architecture, or construction
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and trade partners on construction documents
  • Strong understanding of residential construction and design processes
  • Project coordination and time management skills
  • Ability to identify and resolve design and construction issues
  • Proficiency in construction design platforms such as AutoCad, Bluebeam and/or Higharc
  • Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Office suite
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Detail-oriented with ability to review technical documents
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize competing demands

 

Physical Requirements:

  • May be sedentary for extended periods, up to 4 hours per day
  • Moderate repetitive hand use (computer use)
  • Visual acuity for reading plans, documents, reports, and computer work
  • Auditory ability to communicate in person, on calls, or in meetings
  • Occasional driving to construction sites
  • Construction site visits may require standing and walking, light lifting and carrying (up to 10 lbs), exposure to outdoor elements, dust, or noise
