LABORATORY TECHNICIAN
Hubot - Tri-Pac, Inc., a contract development and manufacturing company (CDMO) specializing in liquid and aerosol filling for personal care and pharmaceutical marketers, is seeking an experienced Lab Technician. The position is in South Bend, Indiana.
Job Description:
The Lab Technician performs chemical analysis and testing on chemical raw materials and in-process/finished batches according to methods and specifications as defined by the customer. He/she assists with compiling, analyzing and interpretation of results as well as maintaining the flow of samples and paperwork through the laboratory. The Lab Technician maintains laboratory equipment and instrumentation to ensure ideal usage and has a strong attention to detail. The Lab Technician is able to effectively correspond with internal customers, has excellent organizational skills, able to perform physically demanding work such as moving and lifting equipment and capable of standing for long periods of time.
Responsibilities:
- Performs routine instrumental and wet chemistry analysis.
- Maintains accurate records of laboratory paperwork system, notebooks of analysis, reporting, and work performed.
- Documents information by maintaining daily logs and equipment record books.
- Provides technical assistance and documentation to the Compounding, Production, Documentation and Scheduling Departments as required.
- Comply with all GMP/GLP, customer requirements and safety requirements.
- Responsible for all Quality Control testing of incoming chemical materials, in process, and finished products.
- Ensure all laboratory test equipment is calibrated on a regular basis and before conducting testing protocol.
- Maintains raw material information blow between the QC laboratory and Compounding Department.
- Responsible for leading investigations, follow up, resolution and communication of analytical questions and troubleshoot instrumentation issues.
- Support scheduling and testing of stability samples.
- Support of shipping samples to external labs for testing.
Education and/or Experience:
- Associates or Bachelor’s degree in a scientific field preferred
- 1-2 years’ experience working in a Laboratory
- Experience with Microsoft Office – Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint
- Analytical and numerical skills: ability to perform mathematical calculations (add, subtract, multiply, divide) in different units of measurement; ability to use concepts such as fractions, percentages, and ratios
