Position Title: Lead Dispensary Patient Care Consultant 

Category: Full-time, non-exempt 

Location: On-site, based in Pittsburgh, PA (Strip District) 

Reports to: Dispensary General Manager

Compensation: $19.00/hour

Tri-Mountain Pure LLC, dba DRK MTR (“DRK MTR”) is Pittsburgh’s newest Pennsylvania Medical Marijuana Dispensary Operator. We provide certified medical marijuana patients with responsible, compassionate care using marijuana-based medicine. DRK MTR aims to support the societal progress of the marijuana industry in our operating states and beyond. Responsibilities & Duties: 

A Lead Dispensary Patient Care Consultant plays a crucial role in providing a positive experience for patients by offering knowledgeable and friendly service. This position involves educating customers on medical marijuana products, recommending suitable options, and ensuring compliance with all Pennsylvania Department of Health Medical Marijuana Program and local regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Service:

  • Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner.

  • Provide an exceptional patient experience from arrival through checkout.

  • Educate customers on Medical Marijuana products, including strains, product types and accessories.

  • Answer customer inquiries regarding product effects, usage methods, and dosages.

  • Provide personalized product recommendations based on individual customer needs and preferences.

  • Handle customer complaints and resolve issues in a courteous and efficient manner.

Sales and Transactions:

  • Retrieve products from secured storage and record all transactions in the Pennsylvania state seed-to-sale system.

  • Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently using the point-of-sale (POS) system.

  • Generate and apply required product labels and provide receipts and patient safety materials with each purchase.

  • Assist with receiving inventory shipments from grower/processors.

  • Support regular inventory counts, audits, and reconciliations.

  • Participate in end-of-day cash balancing and financial reporting procedures.

  • Maintain knowledge of current promotions, discounts, and store policies.

Product Knowledge:

  • Stay informed about new products, industry trends, and regulatory changes.

  • Attend training sessions and workshops to continuously improve product knowledge.

  • Keep updated on company product offerings and their benefits.

Compliance and Security:

  • Ensure compliance with all Pennsylvania Department of Health Medical Marijuana Program and local regulations regarding the sale of Medical Marijuana  products.

  • Verify customer age and identification before processing sales.

  • Maintain accurate records of sales and inventory as required by law.

  • Report any suspicious activities or security concerns to management.

Store Maintenance:

  • Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the store.

  • Conduct regular inventory checks and assist with inventory management tasks.

  • Participate in store opening and closing procedures.

Team Collaboration:

  • Work collaboratively with team members to achieve store goals.

  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to a positive work environment.

  • Assist with special events and promotions as needed.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management. 

Essential Skills, Knowledge & Ability:

  • Must-have requirements for this position: 

    • High school diploma or equivalent; some college education preferred.

    • Must be at least 18 years of age.

    • Must possess a valid government-issued ID.

    • Must pass a comprehensive background screening.(Federal, PA State, and Fingerprinting)

    • Complete the state required continuing education program 

    • Previous retail or customer service experience; experience in the marijuana industry is a plus.

    • Strong understanding of medical marijuana products and their effects; willingness to learn and stay updated.

  • Other Requirements:

    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

    • Ability to multitask and handle a fast-paced environment.

    • Attention to detail and accuracy in transactions.

    • Basic computer skills and familiarity with POS systems.

Physical Working Conditions:

  • Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 50 lbs. to a minimum height of five feet and able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of fifty feet, with or without mechanical assistance. 

  • Must be able to work standing as appropriate at workstations for extended periods of time, maintain body equilibrium while climbing ladders, stairways, stopping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching, and use hands/fingers to hold, grasp, frequently/constantly to complete tasks. 

  • Must have visual acuity with/without job aids to perform activities such as reading, viewing a computer terminal, visual inspection involving small parts/details. Clarity of vision at 20 ft or more in day and night/dark conditions 

  • Must be able to speak and communicate verbally at conversation levels with co-workers, vendors, etc. (Moderate noise) 

  • Comfortable working in a marijuana retail environment.

Work Environment: 

  • This job operates in a retail environment with regular interaction with customers and team members. The role may involve occasional travel to attend training or industry events.

Work Schedule: 

  • 40 hours weekly with flexible hours depending on operational needs. Must be available to work occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays.
