What are the responsibilities and job description for the Physical Therapy Technician position at Tri-Lakes Physical Therapy?
Physical therapy technicians are responsible for attending patient needs in the clinic under direct supervision of a licensed physical therapist. This includes aiding in some aspects of patient treatment. During the course of treatment, it frequently becomes necessary to aid the patient in repositioning or lifting their body to receive different portions of their treatment. This role is physically demanding, requiring up to 8 hours each day being spent on your feet. Technicians may have to take on the bulk of a patient’s weight while conducting their treatment.
Other tasks/responsibilities of this position include cleaning rooms, taking out trash, cleaning the break room, cleaning bathrooms, sweeping, mopping and vacuuming.
Hours of operation: We take appointments from 8 to 5 Monday thru Thursday. That means we are usually done by one hour after the last patient appointment. In rare cases, we will allow a patient to come a bit later, if they have a difficult schedule.
Due to patient schedules, no 15 minute breaks will be given during the day, but a 30 minute lunch is scheduled. Infrequently, lunch may be cut short and/or start late if clinic scheduling requires it.
