Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to provide high-quality care and support to individuals with varying needs and disabilities. As a Direct Support Professional, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for our clients by assisting with daily living activities and providing emotional support. This position requires a strong understanding of ADLs (Activities of Daily Living) and the ability to administer medication as needed.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct support to clients, including assistance with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Support clients with meal preparation, ensuring they receive nutritious and enjoyable meals.
- Assist clients with medication administration, following HIPAA guidelines.
- Engage in various activities with clients, such as socialization, recreation, and skill-building exercises.
- Drive clients to appointments and errands, adhering to safe driving practices.
- Maintain a safe and clean environment for clients.
- Document client progress and report any concerns or issues to management.
- Collaborate with other care team members to ensure a comprehensive support system.
Qualifications:
· Must be at least 18 year of age and possess a high school diploma or general education degree (GED), or at least 21 years of age
· Ability to communicate effectively with participant and participant families
· Read, and understand and implement written or oral instructions
· Perform required documentation
· A valid driver’s license*
· A safe driving record that makes you insurable
· Must pass a pre-employment drug screening
· Must pass criminal background checks
· Successfully complete the required training to perform duties independently
· Acceptable TB screening/test
