We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Laboratory Civil Engineer with a Professional Engineering (PE) license to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting advanced laboratory tests, analyzing materials, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. This role requires a strong background in civil engineering principles, laboratory testing, and project management.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct and oversee laboratory tests on construction materials, including soil, concrete, and aggregate.
- Analyze test results and prepare detailed reports.
- Ensure all laboratory activities comply with ASTM, AASHTO, and other relevant standards.
- Develop and implement quality control procedures for laboratory operations.
- Collaborate with Laboratory Manager and Client Coordinator to provide technical support and recommendations.
- Assist in the maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends and advancements in laboratory testing methods
- Project Coordination and Execution
Position is Full time, and is located in Coraopolis, PA. This is NOT a remote position.

Requirements
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with a concentration in Geotechnical Engineering.
- Professional Engineering (PE) license.
- Strong knowledge of ASTM and AASHTO standards.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in laboratory equipment and software.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- 5 years of experience in a civil engineering laboratory setting
- Master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering or a related field.
- Experience with advanced geotechnical testing
- Permeameter tests for water-saturated porous materials
- Oedometer tests to measure soil consolidation properties
- Triaxial and direct shear tests to measure shear strength
- Other advanced testing (e.g. CRS, DSS, Triaxial Extension, etc.)
- Familiarity with laboratory management software.
- Aptitude with mechanical and electrical test systems
- Familiarity and experience with Trautwein GeoTac Software
