The Academic and Career Foundation is seeking a Learning Support Coordinator for their division. This individual will provide support to prospective and current students and to division faculty and staff to help ensure student success. They will support a caseload of students to facilitate a successful transition to the College, actively connect students with a variety of campus offices and resources, and provide continuing support through a student’s time in Academic and Career Foundations programs/courses.
Job Functions:
- CASE MANAGEMENT: Engages with a caseload of students using a proactive advising model that is facilitated by the College’s early alert system. Facilitates educational and career planning for students. Assists students with navigating the College. Maintains accurate records and tracks student progress in order to evaluate and assess student success, monitor service levels, and recommend opportunities for continuous improvement. Identifies and provides outreach to at-risk students to encourage participation in intentional intervention and student support activities. Serves as a student advocate when appropriate and refers students to Student Support and Engagement resources as needed.
- ACADEMIC SUPPORT MANAGEMENT: Ensures students are aware of and have access to academic support programs and services such as tutoring, supplemental instruction, academic coaching, workshops, and other programs. Designs and implements in-class and out-of-class academic support, including but not limited to workshops, activities, and/or tools for students. In some situations, this will mean collaborating and coordinating with other departments and individuals.
- RECRUITMENT/ORIENTATION/ENROLLMENT SUPPORT: Facilitates recruitment, intake, enrollment, and orientation of new students. Provides enrollment support to applicants and admitted students by assisting with the establishment and clarification of education and career goals; reviewing and interpreting placement assessment results; ensuring appropriate placement.
- PROCESS EVALUATION: Designs, implements, and evaluates for continuous improvement case management processes, staff development activities, educational and career planning tools, and referral procedures. Recommends changes to Dean.
- DIVISIONAL SUPPORT: Engages divisional employees in professional development and general support efforts to help increase student retention. Assists in planning, coordinating, and delivering employee development events.
- OTHER: Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum and Additional Requirements
A Bachelor's degree and experience in student services programs.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in higher education preferred.
