We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Phlebotomist/Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team at QC Kinetix in Dayton! The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, a passion for patient care, and a thorough understanding of laboratory procedures. This role involves drawing blood samples for processing, processing blood samples per the correct protocol, assisting with medical procedures, and providing exceptional patient service in a fast-paced medical environment. The successful applicant will demonstrate proficiency in laboratory techniques, vital signs measurement, and maintaining compliance with safety standards to support accurate diagnostics and quality patient care.
In-office hours are Tuesdays from 8am-5pm and Thursdays from 12pm-5pm. Additional shifts are available on Wednesdays and Fridays at the QC Kinetix location in Liberty Township!
Duties
- Collect blood samples through venipuncture and capillary puncture using aseptic techniques to ensure specimen integrity.
- Prepare and process laboratory specimens accurately, adhering to proper handling protocols for reliable test results.
- Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations, vital signs measurement, and documenting medical histories.
- Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment by following infection control and safety procedures consistently.
- Utilize Electronic Medical Records (EMR) or Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems for data entry, documentation, and scheduling.
- Provide compassionate patient service by explaining procedures, addressing concerns, and ensuring comfort during visits.
- Perform basic laboratory procedures and support clinical laboratory work to facilitate diagnostic testing.
- Handle heavy lifting when necessary to transport supplies or specimens safely within the facility.
Requirements
- Proven experience in medical laboratory work or clinical settings with knowledge of laboratory procedures and techniques.
- Demonstrated proficiency in phlebotomy, venipuncture, blood sampling, and specimen collection/handling.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and clinical laboratory practices.
- Prior hospital or healthcare facility experience is highly desirable.
- Ability to perform vital signs measurement accurately and follow aseptic techniques diligently.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse patient populations including geriatrics and pediatrics.
- Physical stamina to perform tasks such as heavy lifting and prolonged standing throughout shifts.
