What are the responsibilities and job description for the Tri-County Intermediate School Special Education Instructional Assistant position at Tri-County School Corporation?
Key Performance Responsibilities:
- Assists with supervision of students as assigned.
- Performs instructional tasks with students under the direct supervision of the classroom teacher. Duties may include small group, large group, one to one student assistance or other such duties/ assignments as determined by certified staff or building administrator.
- Must approach tasks in a pleasant, cooperative and positive manner.
- Practice patience and tenacity under trying conditions with students.
- Keep school matters confidential.
- Performs assigned supervision of students.
- Alert the certified staff to any problem or special information about an individual student.
- Assist with ensuring full implementation of instructional modifications and accommodations for students with IEP’s.
- Adapt to students and their unique learning styles.
- Demonstrate consistent attendance and punctuality to assigned duties.
- Work with others, such as therapists, counselors, social workers, job coaches and other instructional assistants.
- Maintain a professional demeanor at all times in appearance and attitude.
- Attend appropriate staff meetings and trainings as deemed necessary or assigned by the building administrator or supervising teacher. Maintain training and certifications as required for the position.
- Serves as a chief source of information and help to any guest teacher assigned in the absence of the regular certified staff.
