Job Summary
The World Language & English Learner (EL) Teacher provides high-quality instruction in a world language (e.g., Spanish) and delivers targeted English language development services to English Learners in a regional vocational technical high school setting. The teacher supports students’ linguistic, academic, and career-readiness growth through culturally responsive instruction aligned with Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks, WIDA English Language Development Standards, and vocational-technical program goals.
Key Responsibilities
Instruction & Curriculum
* Teach world language courses aligned with the Massachusetts World Languages Curriculum Frameworks.
* Provide direct in-person instruction and facilitate on-line learning
* Introduce, through curriculum, concepts of global awareness, cultural differences and cultural sensitivity
* Provide English language development instruction aligned with WIDA ELD Standards and MA DESE guidance for English Learners.
* Adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to meet the needs of multilingual learners across academic and vocational settings.
* Integrate language development with vocational-technical content and real-world career applications.
* Differentiate instruction for varying levels of English proficiency and language acquisition.
* Performs additional responsibilities as assigned to support the school’s instructional program and operations
English Learner Support & Compliance
* Deliver EL services through push-in, pull-out, co-teaching, or sheltered instruction models as appropriate.
* Collaborate with content-area and vocational teachers to support EL access to curriculum and technical programs.
* Participate in the development, implementation, and monitoring of EL Student Success Plans (SSPs).
* Ensure compliance with state and federal requirements for English Learners, including identification, placement, progress monitoring, and reclassification.
* Support ACCESS for ELLs administration and interpretation of results.
Assessment & Data
* Use formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress in language proficiency and content learning.
* Analyze student data to inform instruction and intervention.
* Maintain accurate records and documentation related to EL services, progress, and reporting.
* Prepare materials for OLA review as needed
Collaboration & Professional Practice
* Collaborate with EL Coordinator, academic, vocational, special education, and guidance staff to support student success.
* Communicate effectively with families, including multilingual families, regarding student progress and program expectations.
* Participate in team meetings, professional learning communities, and school-wide initiatives.
* Engage in ongoing professional development related to world languages, EL instruction, vocational education, and culturally responsive teaching.

* Promote an inclusive, welcoming school environment that values linguistic and cultural diversity.
* Support school-wide initiatives related to equity, access, and career readiness.
* Participate in school events, open houses, and family outreach as needed.
Salary : $57,554 - $116,953
