Company Overview
The Tri-County Opportunities Council Early Head Start/Head Start Program serves 483 expectant mothers and children ages birth to five in the nine Illinois Counties of Bureau, Carroll, LaSalle, Lee, Marshall, Ogle, Putnam, Stark, and Whiteside. The program offers comprehensive child and family development services to those deemed eligible. The program’s primary goals are to partner with parents to promote self-esteem, increase self-confidence, and advance school readiness skills for children. Comprehensive programming includes education, medical, dental, mental health, and nutritional services; welcomes children with disabilities or special needs; and provides family education, advancement, and social service support while connecting enrolled families to community resources and transportation assistance. The program offers various options to meet the needs of children, families, and communities throughout all nine counties.

Open Positions in Dixon, IL for Head Start:

  • Dixon Bus Driver/Class Aide (Head Start): 18 hrs./wk. Bus Driver and 12 hrs./wk. Class Aide; part-year position. Minimum of a high school diploma or GED and an excellent driving record. Must have held a valid driver’s license for at least three (3) consecutive years before hire. Starting Wage Range: $17.11 to $17.93

Open Positions in Paw Paw, IL for Head Start:

  • Paw Paw Lead Teacher (Head Start): 40 hrs./wk.; part-year position. Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, child development, or a closely related degree with a minimum of 21 credit hours in ECE. Previous experience in a licensed early childhood setting is desired. Starting Wage Range: $20.87 to $24.07
  • Paw Paw Teacher Assistant (Head Start): 40 hrs./wk.; part-year position. Minimum of a high school diploma. Previous experience in early childhood education is preferred but not required. People with or without experience will be required to obtain a Preschool CDA within 12 months of hire and will be encouraged to obtain their Associate's Degree in ECE. Starting Wage Range: $16.10 to $19.06

Open Positions in Sterling, IL for Head Start:

  • Sterling Lead Teacher (Head Start): 40 hrs./wk.; part-year and full-year positions. A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, child development, or a closely related degree with a minimum of 21 credit hours in ECE is required. Previous experience in a licensed early childhood setting is desired. Starting Wage Range: $20.87 to $24.07
  • Sterling Bus Driver (Head Start): 18 hrs./wk. Bus Driver and 12 hrs./wk. Class Aide; part-year position. Minimum of a high school diploma or GED and an excellent driving record. Must have held a valid driver’s license for at least three (3) consecutive years before hire. Starting Wage Range: $17.11 to $17.93
  • Sterling Custodian (Early Head Start and Head Start): 40 hrs./wk. full-year position. Minimum of a high school diploma or GED with two years of custodial or related work experience. Must hold a valid Driver’s license. Starting Wage Range: $17.11 to $22.14

Open Middle and Leadership Management Positions for Early Head Start and Head Start:

  • Practice Base Coach (Early Head Start and Head Start): 40 hrs./week; part year position; Office in Rock Falls, IL; Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in early childhood education, child development, or related degree with a minimum of 21 credit hours in ECE. Must maintain CLASS Certification and be able to attend and offer training on Conscious Discipline and CLASS. Starting Wage Range: $22.53 to $24.85
  • Site Supervisors (Early Head Start and Head Start): 40 hrs./wk.; part-year positions; Office in Dixon/Paw Paw, Rochelle, or Sterling, IL; A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, child development, or related degree with a minimum of 21 credit hours in ECE is required. Previous supervisory experience is preferred but not required. Starting Wage Range: $22.53 to $24.85
  • Health Specialist (Early Head Start and Head Start): 40 hrs./week; full-year position; Office in Rock Falls, IL; Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) with a current Illinois license. A valid driver’s license, excellent driving record, and previous experience in pediatric health, public health, or health management systems are required. Pay Range: $4,091.00 to $5,600.00/per month
