What are the responsibilities and job description for the Optometric Technician position at Tri-County Eye Center?
Position Summary: The candidate must have a positive attitude and enjoy working with people. We offer a friendly environment with excellent pay and hours. There are no evening or weekend hours required.
Duties/Responsibilities: Handle telephone inquiries regarding scheduling, insurance and billing; check patients in and out; schedule patients; use electronic medical records to collect and record data. With crossover training to assist optician with frame selection, dispensing eyewear, minor frame repairs; assist technician with pretesting patients prior to seeing the doctor, computerized tomography, retinal scans, visual fields, fundus camera, and contact lens insertion and removal training; assist doctor as needed. Experience is preferred but will train the right individual.
Requirements: High School Diploma or GED; must be computer literate; must possess good typing skills; must possess good communication skills.
