Position Overview
Tri-County Animal Rescue is seeking a polished, organized, and compassionate Donor Relations and Events Manager to serve as a vital connection between our donors, volunteers, community partners, and lifesaving mission.
This individual will play an essential role in strengthening donor relationships through meaningful thank-you correspondence, planning and executing fundraising and community events, and coordinating volunteer engagement.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, personable, creative, and passionate about animal welfare, with the ability to create exceptional experiences for supporters while helping advance our mission of saving lives.
Key Responsibilities
Donor Relations & Acknowledgments
- Prepare personalized donor thank-you letters, emails, and acknowledgments for gifts, sponsorships, grants, and in-kind donations
- Maintain accurate donor records and assist with donor stewardship efforts
- Coordinate recognition for major donors, sponsors, and community partners
- Support fundraising campaigns with donor follow-up and appreciation initiatives
- Assist leadership with philanthropic outreach and relationship-building efforts
Event Planning & Execution
- Coordinate fundraising events, adoption events and community outreach initiatives
- Assist in planning annual signature events
- Manage vendor communication, sponsorship fulfillment and event logistics
- Prepare event timelines, promotional materials, and post-event follow-up
- Collaborate with marketing and social media teams to maximize event visibility and engagement
Volunteer Coordination
- Recruit and support volunteers for events and special projects
- Schedule volunteer shifts and ensure appropriate staffing for events
- Maintain volunteer records and communication
- Foster strong volunteer relationships and create a positive volunteer experience
- Assist with corporate volunteer groups and community service partnerships
Qualifications
- 2 years of experience in nonprofit development, donor relations, event planning, volunteer coordination, or administrative support preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Professional demeanor with strong interpersonal skills
- Passion for animal welfare and nonprofit mission-driven work required, you will be working with dogs at your feet
- Ability to work evenings, weekends (Saturday is a must)
