Position Summary:
The Supervisor-Cardiac Rehab is a professional caregiver and department mentor who performs patient assessment, develops, implements and evaluates effectiveness of an exercise prescription for patient populations with various cardiac diagnoses. Provides education to patients, families, caregivers and other health professionals. Responsible for the supervision, scheduling, and time card approval of other staff members. Assists the Cardiac Rehabilitation staff with the teaching programs, exercise sessions, and other activities of the program. Provides services in a manner consistent with TCMC’s mission and values.
Major Position Responsibilities:

- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments including exercise tolerance testing, vital sign monitoring, and individualized treatment planning.
- Provide leadership and clinical guidance for all cardiac rehabilitation program staff.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate evidence-based cardiac rehabilitation protocols in alignment with AACVPR and CMS standards to include program metrics including patient outcomes, attendance, and satisfaction; generate regular performance reports
- Assist with budget preparation, staffing schedules, timecards, performance evaluations, and equipment maintenance or procurement.
- Participate in patient and community education regarding cardiac health, exercise, nutrition, and risk factor management.
- Coordinate physician referrals, patient scheduling, and program enrollment to optimize throughput and outcomes.
- Serve as the clinical liaison with cardiologists, nursing staff, and other healthcare team members.
- Attends meetings on behalf of department and participates in organization and department initiatives.
- Runs reports, performs data review and analysis, and assists the Director as needed.
Safety and Infection Control Responsibilities
- Responsible to maintain a safe and clean work environment, including unit based specific safety and infection control requirements.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a cardiac rehabilitation or related clinical exercise program required.
- Intermediate computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), required.
- Minimum one (1)year supervisor or lead experience, required.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or Nursing required.
- Master’s degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or Nursing, preferred.
Certification:
- Current BLS required upon hire; American Heart Association Healthcare Provider.
- ACLS; American Heart Association Healthcare Provider, required within 6 months of hire or transfer.
- Current ACSM Exercise Specialist certification, preferred.
Each new hire candidate who is offered employment must pass a physical evaluation, urine drug screen and pre-employment background checks before starting work.
*Salary/Hourly Wage range based on experience.
