Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Powder Coating Application Technician to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for applying high-quality powder coatings to a variety of metal components, ensuring they meet strict quality standards and are prepared for the next stage of production. Your expertise in powder coating techniques, surface preparation, and equipment operation will contribute to delivering durable, visually appealing finished products. This position offers an energetic work environment where precision, safety, and efficiency are prioritized.
Duties
- Operate powder coating equipment including spray guns
- Apply powder coatings evenly on parts while adhering to specified thicknesses and color standards through visual color comparison and measurement.
- Use forklifts and cranes for materials handling, moving components safely within the workspace.
- Follow all safety protocols by wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including respiratory protection devices, especially during spray application.
- Conduct quality inspections throughout the coating process to ensure adherence to quality standards in production.
- Maintain cleanliness of work areas and equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance.
- Assist with fabrication or assembly tasks as needed within the manufacturing process.
Qualifications
- Prior experience with industrial painting, powder coating, or auto body repair is highly desirable.
- Mechanical knowledge related to machining, welding, auto painting, or construction surface preparation is a plus.
- Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and precision measuring instruments effectively.
- Experience with materials handling equipment such as forklifts and cranes is preferred.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and warehouse procedures is advantageous.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to perform visual color comparisons accurately.
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to coating thicknesses and surface preparation.
- Commitment to safety practices including PPE use, respirator use, and respiratory protection adherence in accordance with industry standards.
