Collegiate Baseball Experience, LLC., based in Colonial Heights VA, combines competitive sports and sports entertainment to present a unique fan engagement experience offered by no other sports organization. The organization features multiple brands: the Tri-City Chili Peppers, a summer collegiate wood bat baseball team in the Coastal Plain League; the Chilly Peppers, an alter-ego team that plays exhibition games; the Cosmic Chili Peppers of the Cosmic Sports league; and the GlowMojis of the Cosmic Sports league.
Job Summary
The Cosmic Takeover Tour Athletic Trainer is a dynamic and essential role responsible for providing comprehensive athletic training support during the touring event. This position involves working closely with athletes, performers, and event staff to ensure optimal physical health, injury prevention, and recovery. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in sports medicine, physiology, and nutrition, with a passion for promoting health and wellness in a high-energy environment. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a unique touring experience that combines athletic expertise with entertainment.
Trainers will travel with the team each weekend from March 20th-October 18th. Travel typically starts on Thursday each week with a return on Sundays.
The Athletic Trainer should be in the Richmond, VA area or willing to relocate in order to be with the team during spring training which will happen in late February 2026.
The team will pay for your travel and lodging as a part of the tour.
Duties
- Provide immediate care and injury management for performers and staff during the tour
- Conduct health assessments and develop personalized injury prevention strategies
- Assist with stretching, warm-ups, and cool-down routines to optimize performance and reduce injury risk
- Educate team members on proper body mechanics, nutrition, and overall wellness practices
- Maintain detailed documentation of injuries, treatments, and progress reports
- Collaborate with medical professionals to coordinate treatment plans when necessary
- Lead health coaching sessions focused on physical conditioning and injury resilience
- Monitor physiological responses during performances to ensure safety and optimal functioning
- Stay updated on the latest sports medicine techniques and incorporate them into tour activities
Skills
- Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and body mechanics
- Proficiency in medical terminology relevant to sports medicine and injury management
- Experience in health coaching with an emphasis on physical activity and wellness education
- Background in personal training or sports medicine preferred
- Excellent communication skills to effectively educate and motivate team members
- Ability to work in a fast-paced touring environment with flexibility and adaptability
- Knowledge of nutrition principles related to athletic performance and recovery
- Demonstrated ability to assess injuries accurately and implement appropriate interventions
Qualifications:
- Current NATA BOC Certification (ATC) – in good standing.
- State Athletic Training Licensure (or eligible to obtain prior to start date).
- Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training or related field (Master’s preferred).
- 2–3 years of experience as a certified athletic trainer, with at least 1 year in baseball or a similar high-performance sport.
- CPR/AED certification required.
- Knowledge of injury prevention techniques, therapeutic modalities, and rehabilitative exercise programs.
- Comfortable using performance and medical technology (GPS, health monitoring platforms, EMRs).
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills with a professional, collaborative approach.
