Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Floater to join our early childhood education team! As a Floater, you will play a vital role in ensuring a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment for young children across multiple classrooms. Your energetic presence will support classroom teachers, assist with daily activities, and help maintain a positive atmosphere that promotes growth and development. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to gain diverse classroom experience while making a meaningful impact on children’s lives.

Duties

  • Provide flexible coverage across various classrooms to support teachers and ensure continuity of care
  • Assist with child supervision, engaging children in age-appropriate activities that foster learning and social skills
  • Support classroom management by helping implement lesson plans and behavior management strategies
  • Maintain safety standards by adhering to first aid, CPR, and pediatric first aid protocols, responding promptly to emergencies
  • Communicate effectively with parents about daily activities, developmental progress, and any concerns
  • Help with classroom setup, cleaning, and organization to create an inviting learning environment
  • Follow mandated reporting laws to report any concerns related to child welfare or safety

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children in daycare, preschool, or early childhood education settings
  • Knowledge of childhood development principles and classroom management techniques
  • Certification in first aid, CPR, and pediatric first aid required; additional certifications in special education or behavior management are a plus
  • Prior experience working with individuals with disabilities or in special education settings is highly desirable
  • Strong communication skills for parent interaction and team collaboration
  • Ability to adapt quickly across different classrooms and age groups including infants, toddlers, and preschoolers
  • Passion for nurturing young children’s growth through engaging activities and attentive supervision
