Duties
- Provide flexible coverage across various classrooms to support teachers and ensure continuity of care
- Assist with child supervision, engaging children in age-appropriate activities that foster learning and social skills
- Support classroom management by helping implement lesson plans and behavior management strategies
- Maintain safety standards by adhering to first aid, CPR, and pediatric first aid protocols, responding promptly to emergencies
- Communicate effectively with parents about daily activities, developmental progress, and any concerns
- Help with classroom setup, cleaning, and organization to create an inviting learning environment
- Follow mandated reporting laws to report any concerns related to child welfare or safety
Qualifications
- Experience working with children in daycare, preschool, or early childhood education settings
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and classroom management techniques
- Certification in first aid, CPR, and pediatric first aid required; additional certifications in special education or behavior management are a plus
- Prior experience working with individuals with disabilities or in special education settings is highly desirable
- Strong communication skills for parent interaction and team collaboration
- Ability to adapt quickly across different classrooms and age groups including infants, toddlers, and preschoolers
- Passion for nurturing young children’s growth through engaging activities and attentive supervision
